For years I have been advocating hammer shrouds for snub revolvers. Whether built into the frame like the S&W Bodyguard or attached to the snub like the Waller and Son shroud for Colt D-frame revolvers. But shrouds are not to everyone’s liking. Well earlier this week Rob Lyman of LEO Combat was kind enough to mail me over several samples of his Pocket Safe Hammer Shrouds. These are snap on covers the shield the hammer spur. They prevent the spur from hooking pocket on the draw yet will quickly fall away with the pull of the trigger. I tried these on several unloaded J-frames and they seem to work as advertised. I am scheduled for some live fire range training on Tuesday and while there I plan to give the Pocket Safe Hammer Shrouds a good testing come rain or shine.
